Entryway Makeover

Our front entry is located in our main living room. It isn’t a large space, just a square step up that defines it as that area. On the step up we have the door to our coat closet and the front door. Just enough area to take your shoes off before being fully in the living room. I wanted to make this feel more like an entryway instead of a step up from the living room. To do this, I decided to add a wall feature next to the closet. I went with a faux shiplap look that had a peg shelf above it. This gave the entry some character.

Inside the coat closet, there wasn’t a rod or shelf to hang stuff. It was a completely empty closet. I added a shelf, a rod, and a built in shoe rack on the bottom.
